Botulinum Toxin

Botulinum toxin injections are made by using refined toxins produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum.  The toxins are then separated from the live bacteria to ensure there is virtually no chance of active infection.  There are several FDA approved toxins available in the USA and they all work in a similar fashion.  They impair neurotransmitter activation of muscle cells to produce various results, depending on where they are placed.

We offer three different toxins in stock for your treatment and can order other brands if you have a favorite you have to have.

  • Daxxify® – is one of the newer toxins and a favorite for those who wish faster acting and longer lasting results with a gradual return of muscle activity to give you time to plan ahead for your next treatment. Though the manufacture, nor we can guarantee you specific results, studies show this toxin variety can last up to 6 months. This is double what the other toxins endorse as their duration of action.
  • Xeomin – is another newer toxin which is molecularly “cleaner” than the other toxins, meaning it is less likely to cause any irritation or lead to toxin “resistance” with prolonged use.
  • Nabota/Jeuveau – is from South Korea and received FDA approval in 2015.  It has similar characteristics as all toxins but comes with the added benefit of being much less expensive.  Nabota is the Korean branding and Jeuveau is the US brand name.  They are the same product in different packages.
